How much for a stock L98 bottom end?

Just wondering. Anyone care to venture a guess? I'm talking heads w/ manifolds, block and internals. No intake. Less than $500? Or how about a whole L98 if a bottom end can't be found.

I want one so I can put it on a stand and cam it, install the heads and headers, LT1 intake, and everything else that is easier with the engine out.

I have a 350 shortblock assy if you are in need. 1987 truck however, not L98.

Block, crank, pistons, & rods.

That's a spankin' good deal. I will do the engine next summer after a paint job. Btw, where is that guy (Brad?) who paints cars?

Anyway, paint first, then things like more power. But I just needed a baseline for engine prices. I spent $900 for a used GTP engine then the car was crashed 2 months later. So I figured, there's more L98's out there than L67's, actually that might not be true in a few years, and there is no rediculous markup for the Supercharger.

Yeah, I bet you wouldn't tip a good stripper more than a $1 either.

BigWhiteGTP.... Get ahold of SRS914. He's got the complete L98 + Vortecs minus intake from my car. Good strong motor. Even better to go on a stand and be built. He was just going to slap it in and drive.

dude let me know.. i want to get rid of my camaro stuff... All of it.. You would be getting an l98 motor to include exhaust manifolds y-pipe and cat. then just because i want this stuff gone i will give you my vortec heads that i will never use now.. let me know 500 bucks i think its a steal...

84l69ta probably thinks denny's is a high priced resturaunt! lol

How is it worth any more than that??? Its a cast crank, 2 bolt main, regular 350. Whoop-de-do. I just dont see it. Ill go to Ecology and pay $40 for a short block any day of the week, instead of paying too much for an L98 short block, just to say I have one.

You also quoted me only $54.95 plus a $20 core at Ecology or U-pull-it for my 700R4, yet you gave me $125. Good old Ecology isn't THAT good then, eh?

I guess you tend to trust what you buy from someone on the board and are willing to pay a little more out of something that was just running rather than the junkyard. I know I would.

You're still happy with that tranny aren't you?

this board seriously has gone down hill like chrisformula355 stated in another thread.. when moderaters flame people trying to sell stuff there is something wrong i thought the moderaters are supposed to keep us from flaming each other.
