Little Anthony's Diner Car Show 3/11
Ok, so we discussed this a few weeks back and now it is time.....
Mar. 11 - Little Anthony's Diner Car Show (7010 E. Broadway Blvd.) - Day Show 10am-2pm - Tucson - Info: 520-296-0456
So, who's in? If we do this, do we wanna all meet someplace and then roll on in there as a group or do we just want to meet there? Since it's an afternoon show I'm not sure if people are gonna want to go. If your interested post up so we can at least get this thing going.
Going so far......
CraZ-28..me duh!

I may have my car running by then but it's going to be close. I shipped my downpipes to Jet-Hot today (Mississippi) and their turnaround time is 5-10 days. This is all I'm lacking now to get the engine running again....

My relationship with the O'Rielly's parts department is long, as far back as 1984. In fact, I have an account with them -- kind of rare for a non-business. I still remember when Hector started there; moved to Tucson from Douglas. I was there last weekend and talked to him. He did mention you! Did you know he also lives in Rita Ranch? BTW, the guys there call me "Will". Don't ask!

I will admit, Hector knows his stuff. But if he's not there and you need their help, talk to Jeff Oestrike. He's been my parts guy for over twenty years. Mention my name (Will) and ask him to look up some GM striping part numbers. He'll probably hang up on you!! It's a personal joke between us.

Jeff and I don't get along so well....he ran some insults while
he thought the phone was on hold, and it was enough to make
me take a drive to shut his lip for him....luckily we were very
busy at the time....I cooled down, but I'd sooner call Watson
than deal with Jeff.

What do you mean "destroyed"? What happened?
It's not looking like my car will be ready to drive by the 11th. I'm waiting on downpipes to be coated and shipped back, then final assembly. Unfortunately, my work schedule is long and between it and family duties, I hardly have time during the week to work on my car.....

Yeah, it's probably going to be a small turnout but that's ok. At least the few that go can make some sort of presence. I mean usually when I was going I was the only 3rd gen there and I wasn't even in the show and I had people checking out my car. And it's nothing to get all excited about....well, not like some other members cars. *cough*Willie*cough*

I was rearended by a ford SUV at the south bound stoplight at Swan and Speedway. The spoiler, and rearwindow were shattered, as well as the T-tops, as they were in the back. There is a giant crease on the passenger side in the rear, and the fender is all twisted. And the passenger side wheel well is all crumpled in. The car would ignite, but I couldn't move it forward or backwards. Of course, the police didn't believe me when told them that and when they tried they did a damn good job of burning the clutch, to top it off. I'm seriously depressed.
I guess it wasn't outright "destroyed", but I'll never be able to drive it again.

I'm now 90 percent sure my coupe won't be ready in time. Regardless, I'll be stopping by Little Anthony's.
Here's a pic I took this evening of my project. .... oops, my Cobra is in the background. If anyone is interested in checking out my "project" in person, I'll be glad to show it, even though it won't be complete. Or if there's any interest in seeing a truly rare and mostly original '87 Z28 convertible, it's stored on the east side of Tucson, less than ten minutes from Little Anthony's. Only 75-100 were produced..... and it's the "unknown" anniversary Camaro.

The pic doesn't do the car justice. I've only seen it from inside the garage in it's current stage. I can't wait to see this thing in the sunlight.

I'm still in. What time are we all meeting down there? I was thinking about 12, that should put us right in the middle of the whole thing and not too many cars will be showing up after that.

Well it looks like the car show may be cancelled due to RAIN! Word has it that it's gonna rain like mad tomorrow and even Mt Lemmon is supposed to get some snow. How much you ask? Well, per the weather person this morning, it's rumored a weak 10-12 inches. Just a dusting you know.
Mar 11 Tomorrow
Partly cloudy and windy with isolated thunderstorms possible. A few storms may be severe. High around 55F. Winds SSW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Mar 11 Tomorrow night
Windy with rain likely. Low 37F. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
If it doesn't rain, I'm still in. I figured we could just meet someplace and roll on in. We'll just have to wait and see.
