Want to Trade my 700r4 for a T56...

I know I'm supposed to do this in the for sale forums, but honestly I have no intention of paying for shipping when I know I can find something within a driveable distance. I have a 700r4 transmission in my '89 firebird. I just bought the car and all I honestly know is that the transmission has been rebuilt in the past few years. It works great and shifts strong. It is still in the car though. I want a T56 and am willing to trade, possibly with some cash if necessary. Also, I have every intention of rebulding the T56 when I get it so I don't really care if it's in need of one.
I would like to do this sometime within the next month, but I do need to take the tranny out of the car so let me know if you're interested and let's work something out.

Thanks.

I can find you a T-56 and know people who will rebuild it for you. As for the 700r4 I always have some of those laying around and havent ever been able to get more than $150.oo or so, for them. I have connections to get them for around $700.oo to $800.oo.

Awesome. I'd be interested in finding the T56, but I would rather do the rebuild to save money and so I can have the experience. Thanks

I rebuilt one myself once. The trouble is that if you buy the parts yourself at retail, it can cost almost as much as the rebuild. There are only 2 special tools needed and I have them both, so if you need help with it, I'll be glad to help out.

When you're ready to sell the 700R4, let me know. I might be interested. I need one for my truck.

I'd be interested in swapping... I just need to get my 700r4 out of my bird. I just got back from Hawai'i so that's why I haven't been on I'm still down for this though.
