wow......my screen name still works!! one of the "old" skewl guys here
Wow. Was thinking about Arizona and thought I"d look up thirdgen.org and see if it was still online. Amazing.............I remember way back in the day when all us Tucson thirdgen.org guys used to meet up and head up to SIR. Synapsis, Mexican Mike (haha, thats not his screen name), Sergio, White Mike, Dirk (is he still the board owner?), NO RICE!!!! ect.......Its been soo long!!! mrt89rs, post up that video of you blowing that old 305 near synapsis's old house in rita ranch!!!
Sold my last thirdgen years ago before leaving Az. Went to the dark side years ago.....now I've got a nasty 5.0 fox Cobra with some goodies.
Well, I'm willing to bet all the old thirdgen guys are gone...............but maybe not?? Amazing my screen name still works. hah. Check out my registered date

Your screen name rings a bell with me.
Dirk sold TGO, which got sold again (and maybe again?) so its onis 3rd or 4th owners now. Just a money maker "business site" now. No longer owned by enthusiasts.
He still has GTASourcePage.com. Bradley has been gone forever. I got into 4x4s, then lowered trucks for a few years, but I came back around 2006, when I got my 87 GTA.
Not many of us OLD timers around here anymore.

I must admit....i do miss the old f bodies. Even though I'm a mustang guy now, I have been looking for a nice clean 87-90 Formula to build. Seems like nobody builds them anymore. I have seen VERY few clean thirdgens (or any at all for that matter) in the midwest where I live now.
Crazy how time flys..............

BTW Willie, I wanna say thank you for your work with the twin high flows a few years ago. Gives a great starting point for my endeavor to it on my car. I have the older style intercoolers with the outlets on opposite ends instead of 90* offset so I will have to do it somewhat different, I am excited to do it though!

Dirk sold ThirdGen.org to a small business in 2006. In 2007, they sold ThirdGen.org to a corporation that still owns TGO.
I didn't see Frankie's name listed, so to clarify, Frankie owns GTASourcePage.com. I know Dirk helped Frankie setup his website, which, BTW, turned 12 years old this past Saturday.
Dan Martin stopped by, this past year I believe, to sell his thirdgen to Douglas (AmorgetRS).

And despite you quoting me above, I never said anything about Frankie. I mention Bradley.

Then who is the "he" you reference in your statement about "He still has GTASourcePage.com", which I bolded:
You mentioned "he still has GTASourcePage.com", yet, you didn't mention Frankie who actually does own it (GTASourcePage.com). That was why I mentioned Frankie. Frankie owns GTASourcePage.com, not Dirk or Brad. As I said, I completely know that Dirk helped Frankie with technical side of GTASourcePage, but it's been under Frankie's ownership ever since I can recall.
For further reference, in a thread you participated in:
http://www.gtasourcepage.com/forum/s...12&postcount=5
You can see Frankie speaks about Dirk and Tom helping convince Frankie to turn his personal GeoCities website into the GTASourcePage.com that it is today.

Because Dirk was the owner of the registered URL, but there were 3 founders (2 others) when TGO was formed, when the third gen message board on the Tufts.edu site was down more often than it worked.

Yes, Frankie owns GTASourcePage.com & always has.
Dirk, Bradley & I were the 3 original founders of TGO, when the message board on Tufts.edu was always down. It was Dirk that picked up the ball & ran with it, asking us to join & help. I had to bow out, because life was taking me away from my TGO duties & I was getting less & less done. At some point later (i have no clue when) Bradley stopped too. Leaving Dirk as the sole "owner" (he always owned the URL) & those who help Moderate, like it is done to this day.

Just happened to be trolling around and saw the title to this thread. I remember pretty much everyone that's replied....hey y'all!
Only old timer that's been pretty consistant over the years (other than myself) is Stephen and that JamesC guy- he's a real post troll -
Like Willie, I've updated to another ride ('09 Challenger R/T). It's not a Shelby, but it does just fine.

Sometime ago (years), Dirk talked about the origins of TGO and had stated that TGO was started by 5:
Dan Martin, Victor Li, Bradley Elliott, Steven Cranford, Dirk.
I will admit that I obviously wasn't around that time and only can go by what Dirk said.

Looking back, I see my error.

Regardless of whether or not it was in my sig (Co-Founder), you now suddenly acknowledge that I AM an original founder. I removed it, not because you or Xoxide wanted it gone, but I didn't want to be associated with what TGO has degraded to. There are SOME good people on here & SOME good info, but let's be honest with ourselves, even if we won't admit it publicly. TGO has gone WAY downhill & is nothing like what it was in the mid 90's. A FOR enthusiasts BY enthusiasts. Now it is just a money maker for some "corporation". It does have its up days, but is like a broken recod some days.
I know you were only doing your "job" when you contacted me about it. But I do find it a bit funny how you wouldn't really acknowelde that I was a Co-Founder & now suddenly you do, despite saying you knew that "years ago". Less than 2 years?
Victor Li & Dan Martin do ring a bell now. After over 10 years, I can't remember EVERY name of EVERY situation I was ever in.

Re: wow......my screen name still works!! one of the "old" skewl guys here
Stephen, I'm aware of your co-founder status as Dirk said as much from the start of my involvement.
I scanned those very same PMs you are referring to. The part where you seem to think I "challenged" your co-founder status is likely when you were upset when I asked you to remove the reference and you asked me "My question is, you do not dispute the FACT that I am an original co-founder, of the original TGO."
You obviously was upset and thought we were trying to rewrite history and/or discredit you. You couldn't get over the fact that the (previous) owners did NOT want the title used by anyone. Plain and simple. That's their "right" as (previous)owners.
My response to your question above was that I didn't "personally" know how much or if you were involved. Keyword "personally" as I wasn't around.
Edit: On second thought, I'm removing my PM screen capture on here because PMs are really between two people and I don't think this "issue" is strong enough reason for me to do so, so I will merely quote what I said in my 2007-04-03 @ 10:43Am CT PM to you:
"we understand that you was involved when TGO was "born".
We are not going to go back and forth on this topic again as we did in those PMs.
Stephen, I don't want any problems here, but you need to be more careful and less offensive. Stephen, for some reason you get your mind made up and it's a bitch to get you to realize the mistakes or oversight you make. These types of issues have not just been between you and me, but between you and others as well.
The most recent example was your error on even mentioning the "GTASourcepage.com" reference in this thread when talking about Dirk and Brad. You didn't even catch the error when I responded to your mistake. It wasn't until your second reply to me did you even catch your mistake. Then, two months ago, you told me to "open my eyes" when I informed you that you were wrong when you stated that an SPID sticker had both D81 and D80 spoiler option codes listed - which was not correct. You were simply quoting someone who misread their own RPO sticker! When I tried to inform you that the actual sticker did NOT include both D80 and D81, you kept hammering away at me until you realized that you screwed up with the help of someone else!
You can have the "Co-Founder" status title if you want, as we are under different ownership and I don't believe there is the same issue there previously was. However, I won't add it myself without your permission, given how you just recently stated you haven't been using it in your signature because you apparently aren't proud of the place. I can't say I am 100% proud of some of the things that have occurred, but are beyond our control when we don't own the rights to the website/domain.
This thread is done as this issue is not going to continue on the forums, Stephen. Sorry to the original poster.
