Re: hello AZ

thx,but not looking forward to this heat! just spent the day tuning my car to this climate, seems like I lost a bit of power compared to iowa, dry hot weather compared to cool moisterized air.might be time to get a new chip burned, but so far so good.
anyone go to the pavilions car show?
seems to be very few thirdgens in az.

Re: hello AZ

Welcome!! You can tune? A Pavillions show would be fun. Not to many of us thirdgenners here. But it makes what we drive more special. I get more thumbs up in my 89 than I did with my modded 96 WS6 Formula.

Re: hello AZ

Just basics, things anyone can do.I send my chips out to be burnt or just order new ones,I bumped up my fuel pressure and redjusted my timing then reset my pc and it seems to be a bit better, these roads really grip here! iowa roads you can rip apart, lol
But yea we are becoming a rare bread!

Re: hello AZ

We are at a higher elavation in AZ. I noticed a power loss also when I moved from IL to AZ. Welcome to AZ. Once you make it through the summer and you love the winter when everyone you know is shoveling snow and you are cruising around with that sweet T/A.

I would be up for a pavillions meetup this Sat.

Re: hello AZ

If I didn't have to be home at 5pm on Saturday, I would be bringing my beast to the Pavillions. Having the day to work on the bird. Have to do a brake flush (I have no fluid and don't know why). Check for brake leaks and put on my newly aquired roller rockers and throttle body. Will be cruising shortly after that, I hope.

Why do you need cats? In AZ if you get collector car insurance you get exempted from emission testing. That is what I have on my 88 IROC that I restored. Based on what you have done to that car and it's conditon I would assume it is not your daily driver. My policy is with Grundy. http://www.grundy.com/default2.asp They have agreed value, unlimited mileage and no model year limitation. You must have another car as a daily. Sign up for the policy, then when you go to the DMV to switch your title and tags you give them a copy of decaralation page showing it is a collector car policy. Then they exempt you. Grundy will also notify the state electronically you have a collector policy. If you cancel the policy they will then force you to test, but as long as you keep it insured as a collector car you exempted.

Welcome!
I hope to meet up at Pavillions in the next couple of months when I get mine painted. I've seen a few really nice third gens up there, but they are a rare sight.

Re: hello AZ

Id like to paint mine to,but it would just give me more worries, the way it is I can drive it and not freak out when I do get a chip or scratch. Its black and its shiny, thats good enough for me,Id rather put money into the performance of it,and that is a never ending story..

Re: hello AZ

Yeah I'm really worried about that, my paint looked horrible, but I really want to drive the car. I'll probably go nuts the first door ding, or scratch.

Re: hello AZ

It's gonna be black, you know...the perfect color for AZ
The car is a mess right now, but that should change in the next week or so.

Re: hello AZ

Thx,yea you got my favorite colors goin on.
looks like its gona be killer when its done.
And I had a gunmetal gta when I was 21,11 years ago, this is my 22nd trans am belive it or not,lol yea Im a freak for these cars.
wasted alot of time and money, but enjoyed the ride every step of the way,In my opinion GTA stands for GO THROUGH ANXIETY,cause I constantly obsess over my ride,It has to be perfect or I am not satisfied.

So anyways I think Ill hit the pavilions up this friday is it? what time do people start showing up?

Re: hello AZ

Welcome to AZ! Figure I add my 0.2 in. Yup we are a rare breed indeed People get farrrr more compliments who own these cars than a prius (bad example, but you know what I mean).

IROC212: Black for your car? Good luck keeping it clean man. Unless you have a garage to keep it out of the elements. After I wash the car it only lasts 2-3 days before it's all dusty again *sigh*
EDIT: Just saw your car. It's coming out quite nice man! Keep it up

Pavillions rings a bell. Isnt that where alot of tuners meet up?

Re: hello AZ

Pavillions is on Saturday. When its nice out like today people usually get there between 3 and 5, sometimes later. I've shown as late as 8:30 in the summer and its still packed.

Thanks Samurai, yeah keeping it clean will be a never ending thing. But for like 5 min a day it will look sweet....I hope.

Re: hello AZ

IROC212: hey, at least it's better than keeping it dirty right?

Something I'm pondering about, but is anyone in the Tucson area besides me? Would be pretty cool to get some camaros gathered up.
