Hi all!
Well George, I see that you already got Lisa and my names listed! Good! We will be there for sure!
Don't forget to mention that we will be planning on the X-mas light cruise throughout the Torrance area, called Christmas Tree Lane. It's like being in the Disney Electric parade!! This will be after the dinner! Those of you with wifes/dates/friends/or by yourselfs, should really check this out!!! it's very close to the dinner site.
You might even want to bring the video cameras for this, heck, maybe the dinner too! Ha! Who eats the most????
Any ideas about gifts???

Later,

George

Hi C-Dawg!
Hey, I can't help it that George Lara challenged me to a race, while I was in Lisa's 91 Firebird! It's just too bad that we won by a carlength! Man, what a rush! I beat a Camaro SS-Z-28!!! Ya, I did smoke the tire (hey, it's a pegleg!)!
As for not coming back. HeHe! That's why we'll take a different car (oh ya, also just in case George Lara wants another chance! Ha!!)!!
Too bad the speed will be crawling! But it will be worth it!!

Having fun,

George

OK, for those of you who have posted so far, could you please let me know your resturaunt choice as well. I need this info before Saturday. That is when I will call the resturaunt, if needed, for reservations.

George S., we'll see at the track. You didn't even wait for me, just disappeared from site. As for a re-match ... :nono:

My wife says cheesecake factory!

Are we still doing a gift thang?

I drove the IROC to work yesterday and I really need an alt and battery to drive this thing any more.

Dwayne, I think we should do the gift exchange. I say a limit of $5? Mainly it could be car memorabilia.

A gift exchange would be good, kind of add to festivities.

I'm not sure how far $5 will go. I'll try to find something worth giving away for $5. How about 1 bosch +4 plug. or a quart of Redline oil. I know my old 305 cam should be worth a buck or 2 hahahaha

I think we should up the price to say $10-$15. $5 doesn't buy much these days.

It's been a little while since I've done one of these, but it's always fun to throw in the option of "stealing" someone's gift.

For those that don't know, here's how it works: Basically, everyone brings a wrapped gift and they go into a pile. We then draw numbers to determine what order we go in. The first person picks a gift and unwraps it. After that, the following people have the option of "snaking" a previously selected gift -OR- picking a new one out of the pile. Also, if your gift gets stolen, you get to steal someone else's gift or go back to the pile and select a new one. If your next gift gets stolen, you have the opion of stealing back you original gift. Make sense?

A gift can only be "stolen" 3 times max. At that point it remains with the final owner. It's a lot of fun.

Ok, that sound like the plan for the gift idea. Now, should we do it before or after dinner? I say after, gives the late people (James so far ) a chance to join in. By the way the location for this is Torrance, maybe Christian or George S. can be more specific.

It also encourages people to be creative.

I've done this type of exchange before with friends, as well as at a former place of employment. It's fun to watch the frenzies break out over the really interesting gifts.

PS: I'm a little dissapointed that so far only one Member from either local Club (not counting me) has bothered to take a moment to register on the TDS web site.

Lon you are more than welcome, I’m glad you like it. I take the normal pictures Michael is the crazy one that hangs out of his car at 100 mph on the freeway, in traffic, just to get the shot he wants. He took the shot on your website on the way to a canyon cruise / run a few months ago. Enjoy, I’m sure there will be plenty more too come

Well, that's it ... just 15 of us (we'll get a table for extra in case ...). I think we will be able to park in a parking lot a bit off from the resturaunt, but it has plenty of space. What do you think (George S. and Christian), by that place where we had lunch?

Dammit! I had actually planned on attending this one, but got a phone call on Weds. from my mom telling me that my dad is going to have surgery on the 19th. Looks like I'll be headed home early (that night) for Xmas to help my mom with things. Will there ever be an event/meeting thatI am able to attend?? I am beginning to think that there are some external forces at work here... Hope you guys (and gals!) have a great dinner! -Jerry O.

Hi George!
Heck, any place is fine! That place is cool, but abit of a walk for some of the women, maybe?
I don't care! Meet there? Meet at my house? Anywhere. Just let me know for the time and place!
Oh ya, by the way. You were the one who talked both Lisa and me going to the meeting!

Later,

George

I bought a gift for the gift exchange. I hope we go with Bret's sugestion of $10-$15 instead of $5. I really didn't see much of anything for under $5.

Hi Guys!
I need to know who runs really good gas all the time. I'm bringing an empty plastic 5 gallon container, and I am going to siphon out someone's gas, to give out as my present! How's that sound?
Someone will get lucky!!!
Oh ya, that's why I'll be alittle bit late!

Till Sat,

George

Ok, folks ... since it looks like possible rain, we have "scrapped" the parking idea of a couple of blocks down. For the moment, arrive at the address listed above (first post). I will also be emailing George S.'s and my cell number to those in attendance. If you have any problems, please call either of us. I will be at George S.'s place by 5PM, so we can call up the resturaunt and figure out the waiting time. Shouldn't be more than 2 hours.

The Christmas Lane "parade" following the dinner will be done based on the day's weather conditions.

Transmission: See "Engine"...
Actually, George said we'll have to "scrape" the parking a couple blocks down. That could be painful.

Bret is well prepared to "scrape" the parking lot. He has new chin spoilers installed just for such a purpose.

Not raining here in the San Gabriel Valley. But it is looking very threatening. I can't answer for further South, closer to the meeting site.
