Irwindale results
Got there at 3:30 and got 5 runs in before it got too packed at 8:30. It went ok considering I never raced before!!! (I tried not to expect too much.) Overall I did between 10.5 and 9.5 in the 1/8 My best time was my 2nd run - a 9.406 at 72. My reaction times improved from ZZZZZzzz to a .540 in the 5th run, thanks to advice from the guys. (Vincent, Mike and James.) (and Don) (talk about confusing!) My next goal will be to get decent times ON THE SAME RUN.
And not run over the time slip lady.

That isn't too bad, once you get some more practice and some slicks or probably just drag radials you'll see a much better improvement in those numbers

Thanks! That's helpful to know! I would like to run a 1/4 track and find out for sure. Hopefully the car can hold its leaks a little longer, cause after it's fixed it won't be stock any more.

Right now I have Mike's TPIS wide mouth manifold waiting to go in, and a cat back exhaust from a 4th gen (I think I'm getting it), (already have a Flowmaster at the other end) steering brace and I'm waiting to for specific headers and runners to go on the market. Also, getting rid of my nasty Firestone 225's! I'll need a chip... I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. I'll be at Irwindale again next week learning how to drive.

I just went to see my neighbor and borrowed some helmets. They were strict about it at the track, it has to have a Snell rating, but *only* if you're running under like 8. 50 in the 1/8.

The ones I borrowed from my neighbor are his wife's dirt bike helmets. They're small. I probably won't be using them this time but I wanted to see if they pass inspection for future use.
