SC3G Second Annual Summer BBQ This Weekend!

This is my post over at SC3G. If you would like more information please feel free to contact me.

BBQ thread of SC3G

Sorry for the lack of communication guys but I’ve been in Chicago on business…

Ok if there aren’t any objections I’ll take the lead on the operations/logistics of our BBQ.
I will forward a clear and concise itinerary to all that have posted. For those that are interested in attending but have yet to indicate so please do so. Last year I expected to be a humble get together turned into quite the event. I actually had to go to the store several time just to keep everyone watered and fed.

It is imperative we achieve a balance of exactly what is being brought. Those who attended last years BBQ will remember taking leftovers to their vehicles by the handfuls. There was too much of certain things and not enough of others. From what I’ve read it looks like this is what the following people will be bringing…

Dwayne – Tri-Tip, Beer, Sodas, and lots and lots of love
Don – Cutlery, serviettes, condiments, charcoal, and sweets
Brett – Chips, salsa, and miscellaneous beverages
Julie – Soda
Ken – Macaroni & fruit salad
Lon – Ice
Chris & Tom – green salad, ranch dressing & 1000 islands dressing, and potato salad.
Mike P – EZ-UP, gas BBQ grille, 2 Coleman propane stoves, pots & pans, cooking utensils, multiple ice chests, 8 chairs, and miscellaneous items where needed

Now just by looking at what we have so far its looks like we are going to have an overabundance of soda. I hate to do this but those that attended last year will appreciate what I’m about to ask. Please indicate the exact quantity of what it is that you are bringing. I can see the smart asses twitching already. But seriously we need to get this as dialed in as possible. Please don’t pollute the board with asinine remarks, its simple if you’ve elected to bring soda simply indicate 1 or 2 twelve packs etc. I’ll be interesting to see where this goes…

Please check this list as it will be updated every time an addendum is made. For those interested in attending e-mail to have an itinerary forwarded to you.

We had an incredible time last year, let’s make this years even better!

P.S. I’ll be at the park early in the AM to secure a spot fitting for such an event.

Right on, good luck on breaking that 13.00, be sure to give us a call if you break a 12.60. I’m pretty sure we could make it there, run a number oh lets call it 12 and change, bring you a plate of food, and be back in time for the sunset cruise.

With all seriousness good luck you’re almost there.

Thanks Mike!
I have actually been wanting to drive the car into the 12s for so long that if I managed a pass like 12.6x you would probably see the reflection from my kool-aid smile all the way to Fountain Valley

Actually Mike, I popped my heads off and sent them to Don today to clean all the CNC crap up. I told him to take his time as I don't plan to stick the motor back in until mid august.

Soooooooooo....running on Saturday is not likely to happen

...and Randy, if you do run 12.6X without N20 you would have been drinking the kool-aid alright

I’ve got a new list of additional items that are needed over at SC3G. Let me know what you select so I can cross that particular item off of the list.

Thanks for helping out.

C'mon Don, calling my 642 HP, 406 CI a lawnmower is below the belt. Let me know when the block and balanced assembly get back from the shop so we can degree the 248/256 .580/.600 custom cam in.

Is it driveable?

We could put a sign on it warning of the dangers of parking on a public street.

you can't handle the beginning, which is why you'll never see the end....or in this case, all you will see is my end.

Alright guys I’m off to the park to get a space. I’m going to try and get the same spot that we had last year. I can be reached if you have any questions or are in need of directions.

To all those who wanted to chip in for the tri tip. It looks like we only have about 20 people going to the picnic. I will probably be bringing most of the tri tip back home with me after the picnic. I really don't need any money for the tri tip, but thank you for the offer.
