New here
I didn't see a section for introdutions so I figured it would be best in the region I'm from Palm Springs, and this is my Trans Am '83 crossfire car I picked up from San Diego about two weeks ago. Idk what the crossfire deal is, this car runs great although it does need some speed parts as my Caddy would smoke it

Re: New here
xfire was not one of GM's better ideas. They are just a little underpowered , but there are not many and will be a rare car some day.
If you ever do upgrade the powertrain you might want to think about keeping the currant one if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

Re: New here
Beautiful car you got there, and welcome to So Cal.
If you want to keep it stock, the crossfire will do just fine in normal traffic, but don't count on it being too reliable as they were known for driveability issues (some people called 'em cease-fire).
There's a website dedicated to crossfire engines and obtaining parts to keep 'em running.
http://www.crossfireinjection.net/
But... if you're in the market for horsepower, the TPI is probably the easiest swap you can do on these cars. Out of curiosity, does your car have overdrive?

Re: New here
Thanks for the compliments, honesty this car runs great I think the problems when these cars were new was the techs lack of experience with FI, gm tbi is one of the simplest fi systems to work on and diagnos in the world.
I'm entertaining the idea ofnkeeping the xfire as I saw he renegade manifold and it looks tempting. Although I was trying to get l69 or tpi car the price was right on this one (I have story of cars I looked at in la) no offense but I wouldn't waste my time swapping in a tpi when ls' are so plentiful, my buddy has a very badass ls miata he's experienced with swaps.
When I have Internet again I'll post more pics as I'm writing this from a iPod
