Wow, not my definition of a "clunker", just goes to show you our politicians know nothing about our hobby/lifestyle. And probably care less.

I feel sick to my stomach knowing that someone did that. Will never happen to my IROC if that stupid program ever comes back.

Re: Such a waste...............
actually i liked that program because if it never existed i would of had a hard time finding vert specific parts; my local junk yard was filled with rejects... no hard feelings.
a side note: these car where not appreciated in the first place so their destiny had been written long before the program came along.

And a lot of those dealers didn't get paid because of "improperly" filled out govt forms, we all know how simple they are, and thanks to a slow govt were not able to resubmit before the deadline

OK, I just can't stand ignorance. Forget eveything else I said.

Re: Such a waste...............
The engines are the polluter part.
On one video I watched it took forever for the motor to blow. And they way the blew them probably equaled 5 years of tailpipe emissions.
Typical govt knee-jerk program.
It was supposed to increase new car sales. It did, barely, and only for as long as the program was going.

Re: Such a waste...............
I just dont see how that Kia or Hyundai qualified as a clunker. The fuel rating they go off of isnt what you say it gets it's what it's estimated MPG from the factory was. I mean you can give your car a vacuum leak and the computer compensates by giving it more fuel to make the car eat too much gas but that shouldnt have mattered....weird.

A GNX, TTA and a Typhoon...the 3 coolest cars of the 80's/90's from GM, and all worth at least 20,000 in good condition, they must have been owned by morons

Re: Such a waste...............
I don't understand why a lot of those cars were on there. Lot's of operational vehicles that most of us would love to have, just GIVEN away for $4500!? The newer cars are the dumbest part of it!! I'm trying so hard not to rant on about this, mostly because this isn't the place and I wouldn't be saying anything new, but it takes a certain kind of person to turn in some of these cars. I just hope they were picked clean of all their good parts, at least it wouldn't have been a total waste.
Just noticed this is in the Southen California area board, is this list for just CA, or the country? (please let it be the country)

Re: Such a waste...............
Its just stupid how they wasted all those cars, most of them could have been fixed a little and donated to people that could really use a vehicle.
