junkyard sighting 1/30

some noticeable parts over @ the pyp wilmington.

full tpi, motor, trans, car is a 91 z28, but motor is a swap as i noticed a 9th injector on the runners. (most likely a 305 to 350 swap i assume)
7730 harness though, no ecm, harness has some cut injectors clips, few broken clips, overall complete and fixable. (side note car has a sunroof could this be dealer installed, looks well done)

crossfire firebird, with functional air cleaner, not sure but might be a rare car, has recaro seats, no back rest though, and wheels read "aero + pontiac"
maybe a recaro edition firebird.
Ok it's appears to be an 83 daytona, rare find

also came across a z28 fiberglass hood, broken and split looks like some idiot yanked it of the hinges, pisses me off, i so want a fiberglass hood.

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

gone, did see a pair of rear turbo fin wheels this weekend, i know those are hard to come by as well.

on a side note i scored and found a z28 fiberglass hood, plus an aluminum bumper support from a firebird.

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

I was there Sun (12th) & the front wheels were still on it, but the driver was different from the pass wheel (aero). While i was standing in line some dude walked by with the aero wheel.I assumed it was the one on the pass side.Tan fr/rr recaros were still in it, but no headrest.

There was a mid 80's Monte with an aluminum front bumper.Never knew they had em.I snagged the steering box for my S10 pickup.

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

I am the one who took the aero wheel. There was only one and it took somgenome to get off because of the lock lug nut. There was actually three 1983 pace cars in pick your part last weekend. One in the large and two right next to each other in the small. I took the nose assembly off one. No more aero wheels though.

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

i grabbed the aluminum bumper support of one of those firebirds, sadly the rear support was steel. wonder how much work it will be to make it fit the camaro.
also found a fiberglass z28 hood on another cfi camaro. i wonder why no one snatched the recaro seats, maybe cuz they had no headrests?

pm me a pic of the firebird aluminum bumper? i have what i believe is a camaro one, and the attachment points to the frame horns are longer i believe on the camaros. So a pic of the ends, from the top around the frame hour area would be a good pic.

wanna trade? lol Sucks im in NJ

pics sent, would want to trade but im sure shipping would not make it worth it. heres a pic on weight, seems somewhat comparable to my reg. steel piece. what does the steel one weigh in on. this one is just under 20lbs, wonder if i keep it can i shave 4-5lbs off without loosing integrity

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

I have shipped these before,Greyhound package express or USPS parcel post is your best bet.

IIRC,The metal ones are like 35-40 lbs

Shame,I scrapped 2 alum front 82-84 bird bumper enforcements back in 2008 cause no one wanted them ??

Re: junkyard sighting 1/30

The Reacaros needed more than just the headrest (fabric/foam/*****) & replacements might be hard to find.Back sets looked good though, dirty, but good shape.

Making the FB bumper fit the camaro is not worth it.Tried it years ago, you'll end up hacking/bending it too much.I remember my steel bumper weighing around 30-32 lbs.The aluminum was under 20.
