Yes, Don's shop is my recommendation as well. Many of us use his shop and appreciate his expertise and genuine desire to get your F-Body (or El Camino) running right. His shop is near the Anaheim Pond and well worth the trip.

Agreed Don just completed rebuilding my 88 IROC's 350. You will be very hard pressed to find someone with more information about thirdgens than Don and Kevin. They also have the equipment available to them to soup up your chip as well

Carb? Sorry, there isnt software around to do chips for carb cars. I can only do fuel injection, TPI and TBI and 92-93 LT1's.

So Jet and Hypertech have their own developed software?

If so, I guess there'll be another trip to Steve Cole in my future. I know for sure he can do Carb cars.

Does he do exhausts? I will be ordering my SLP Headers & SLP Cat-Back real soon and if your father does exhausts I might just take it to him for installation. Let me know how much he would charge to install a new exhaust system for my 92 RS (305 TBI)- SLP 1 5/8 headers, CATCO 3" in/out catalytic converter, SLP 3" inlet dual 2 1/2" outlet (driver side) Cat-Back system.

Thx,
J.

Don installed my SLP 1-5/8" headers and custom pieced together a mandrel bent 3" dia. exhaust system. I recommend that you don't buy the SLP installation kit. Just pick up some ARP (I think that was the name) 12 point header bolts and exhaust gaskets. Don will then fab a custom manifold for the air injection on the headers by splicing your stock pisces onto the SLP air tubes. It looks stock from the top and much cleaner than the ugly looking tubing SLP want to sell you with their install kit. He also has some performance improvments he makes where the Y-pipe is concerned. 8^)

I recommend calling Don and taking a preliminary trip to visit the shop. He will look your existing setup over and know what if anything he needs to order for it. He had to order 3" "U" shaped pieces, 3" intermediate pipe, and flanges to bolt up to the cat. My Random Technologies cat had some funky ball nose flanges that had to be cut off. Also ara you planning to install a SFC or do you have one? It often requires a minor tweaking of the exhaust system to clear the SFC so it won't interfere and rattle. I recommend SFC's for any Thirdgen, especially t-top or 'verts especially if you are planning to play in the canyons or at the strip.

Re: Any good Camaro mechanics around ???

I have a lot of misc. work to do on an `88 Iroc I bought last month. I used to and sometimes still do enjoy doing my own work but I became disabled last year so even simple things can be impossible at times. I don`t have a place to do my own work anymore so if I start a project on my car I need to make sure I can finish it before I need to move the car for the street sweeper. I would like to find someone that lives close to me that has shop space, a garage with some space or even a driveway where I could leave my car for a day or two if needed, and of course I would expect to pay a reasonable amount for the use of space. Things I need to farm out are getting the subframe connectors welded in properly and front and rear suspension and steering upgrades, replace shifter, good quality headers, re-do the interior and get it painted. The Iroc I bought is all pretty much original at this point except for the 383.
