do you find your ride too soft, too hard, or just right? what springs do you have? i'm a bit confused because i thought that ws6 and iroc springs are supposed to be pretty stiff (550lb/in?) but then the moog replacements are 700lb/in, which i would think is bone jarring, or are the moog ones progressive rate and therefore aren't too stiff?
also, how many coils does an iroc or ws6 spring have? the ones from my LT have 8.5 but i suspect the stiff springs have less for a tad lower ride height. i was thinking of getting iroc/ws6 springs with 550lb/in spring rate and cutting a half coil to lower ride height a little but it will also increase spring rate and i dont want it to be too stiff

I have the Moog 700 and whatever lbs/in rate ones, they're fine. I also have the Moog CC635 rears, also work just fine. The car sits at approximately stock ride height and rake. The fronts are linear, the rears are progressive. I have stock Monroe front struts (require frequent replacement) and Edelbrock rear shocks, and 34/24 sway bars. I highly recommend this combo. It is not particularly stiff at all. The car is also well reinforced, with SFcs, a wonder bar, and lots of its spot welds augmented by welding all along the seam.

stock springs, kyb struts and shocks. handles awesome, but i must say the ride was a little harsh at first. now that i'm used to it, when i'm in another car it feels too soft. and when driving another car i have the tendency to take turns too fast for that particular car and screeching the tires cuz i'm so used to the iroc's handling. i wouldn't go too much stiffer though, too many potholes, speedbumps and such around.

SRING RATES
IROC FRONT SPRING RATE IS 548in LBS.Z28s ARE THE SAME.ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE IROC SPRINGS ARE (REJECTED) Z28 SPRINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE 1/2in TOO SHORT.THATS WHY IROCS SIT LOWER THAN Z28s FROM THE FACTORY. Rr SRINGRS ARE RATED AT 130in LBS FOR ALL F-BODYs (Ive READ THAT SOMEWHERE).GTAs WITH THE WS6 OPTION USE A SOFTER RATE.ABOUT 500in LBS IN FRONT.RrS AGAIN ARE THE SAME RATE 130.CUTTING 1/2 COIL WILL GIVE YOU ABOUT 10% INCREASE IN SPRING RATE.

I never said they were maid by accident.whenever you mass produce something there is going to be variances in the product.Because of this not all springs are going to be exactly the same. Some turn out shorter, some taller.Whatever the case these were not used on z28s.so GM decided used the shorter ones on the iroc because they didnt know what to do with the shorter ones until the iroc was produced.I have read this in several manuals & how to/camaro books.Ill try to find one of these articles. As far as the spring rates being the same. What i meant is if the vechicle is H.Top vs say a convertible or a rs.irocs have the same rates ,conv would have the same, but differ from a rs or a v6 would differ from a V8 or 4cyn etc.here is a paragraf(2nd)from one book by(brooklands books)titled hi perf camaros 82-88).this doesnt get to involved about the subject.i have better articles about this subject.

I fricking love my Eibach pro-kit. Helluva lot thicker/stiffer ride than previous stock Z28 (F41) springs. Dropped my ride about 1inch. I highly recommend them. I went with some autozone struts/shocks b/c of $$ issues. The car handled significantly better, but its VERY rough around pot-holes, brick streets, etc. Definately a kidney buster but I much better motoring experience!

My stock WS6 springs are stiff enough to make me consider road conditions whenever I go anywhere. I drive 5mi. out of the way to work to stay off bad roads. The cornering ability makes it all worthwhile, though. The rear springs do seem a little soft, but at 150k+ I'd say thats due to wear.
If you have good roads in your area, go for the stiff ones.

I have the Pro-Kit with KYBs and love it. Real firm but very drivable. I will be replacing the bushings and ball joints in my RS soon and I will probably cut 1/3 coil just to sit it down a tad.
Not to flame, but I have a very hard time believing that Iroc springs were "rejected Z28 springs". The performance package gets a lower quality part? I don't think so. If that was the case there would be no spring rate differences. Besides, the Irocs WERE Z28s. GM just had the Iroc series sponsorship at the time.

I also have the pro-kit with bilsteins and the ride is VERY tolerable and its handling is insanely improved! I highly recommend this simple setup.

I would like to add the the ride quality has alot to do with shock valving. Thats one of the reasons the irocs rode so much harsher than the z-28's they had stiffer valving.
