I bought the kit and the other day, when my friend and I went to put them on, he told me they wouldn't work. He said something about that it looked to him like the one's I had were for rack and pinion steering because there was no sleave for it to connect to the inner tie rod end and to the baer rod ends. And he said that if he could get them to connect, they'd be about 3 or 4 inches too short and wouldnt connect to the place they were supposed to mount to. I'm not really sure wtf he meant, but I hope I didn't just shell out alot of money for fancy tie rod ends that don't even work. Anybody have any probs with theirs?

well I dont have them (yet anyways) but from what I know they should work perfectly fine. They just replace the outer tie rod and the sleve part. I believe Good2.8 I think thats his SN has the kit. You could try asking him...or he'll probably find this thread and help you out.

there is a pic of it installed, that might help you out. if not you will have to wait until someone who has installed it gets on.

If you do a search you might be able to find something else, but this was one thread that came to mind.

Here's a cross view of the front suspension showing the adjusted height of them installed at ride height. You'll notice that the side ner the tire is still slightly higher than level- This should be slightly lower than level but my car is extensively lowered and that is all the adjustment in can get safely out of these. The front end doesn't move AT ALL when you try to bounce the fenders so I don't have much change in geometry because of its stiffness- thus this setting works fine for me at that angle. A softer suspension would still experience slight bumpsteer at that angle.

Edit: G@d I hate those frikin blue springs. I should have painted them black years ago. I don't like colors under my car, it looks fuu-fuu like a chick car.

well, good2.8 do they function well? Do you think it was worth your money. Bumpsteer is a big pain when you drive on crappy streets like I do.

I was planning to buy those Baer ends, but the Spohn front end rebuild kit now comes with Spohn tie rod end adjusters. I'm gonna use those and see if it works out. If not, I'm gonna go with the Baer pieces. Should have the Spohn pieces installed by the end of this week. I'll post some pics so we can compare the parts.

CH, (By the way, You've got to ship me some Manapua),

The adjusters that Spohn sells simply replace the weak tierod sleeves and have no geometry adjustment. They are just like the Hotchkis ones pictured at the upper left in the picture below ( only Spohn uses a little stronger tubing.)

Well, looks like I know what the problem is. Mine arent as long as the one's in the last picture. They stop right after the part in the middle (where it looks kinda like a nut sorta). Yeah, thats how short they are. So, either they sent me the wrong one's or they left out the rest of the sleeve. Just great, I hope I still have my recipt, otherwise i'm screwed. On the other hand tho, my friend said he could buy sleeving (I guess that's what you'd call it) that would make up for the other half that's missing. But, if they sent me the wrong one's I wouldn't wanna waste all the time buying that sleeving and having us try to put it on, only to find out they are made for a viper or a 4th gen f body or something else, guess i'll send em' back if I can find the recipt. Damn.......

Sounds like you definitely got the wrong ones. The 4th gen version is shorter, so I'd guess that what's you were sent.

Exchange them for the correct version and you'll be all-set.

I ordered them from Scoggin Dickey, which I thought was pretty respectable and got stuff done right, but maybe they had a new guy, hell I dunno. Stuff happens, i'd go ahead and order from them, it was the easiest way. Only prob is, I don't think I ever got a recipt, so guess i'm SOL.

Ah didnt know that about the Spohn pieces. Nevamind them then!! Baer it is ... unfortunately they moved qualifying up a week so I gotta get the motor running by this Friday. Just got the ECM in the mail, need to drop the L98 in right away. Dont have time to do my steering linkage afterall.

But when I have some time later I think I will have to get the Baer pieces. I'll install them while I eat manapua!! mwahahah!!

How can you really tell if you need the bumpsteer kit or not??? If my tie-rods are still pointing down at the spindle mount are they not needed? Is the baer kit just a shorter outer tie-rod that allows you to put a spacer in to keep it pointed down?

I just put 2" drop spindles and 2" custom drop springs with weight jacks on my car and I couldn't bring the tie-rods in enough so I'm still stuck with 1" toe out! I'm just going to take a little off the outer tie-rods for now so I can bring it in more but I'm thinking the baer kit would be much better. what do ya think?
