15" IROC wheels in this style?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2440953581
Is this guy for real? I thought the only 15" wheel used was the 5-spoke 'RS' style wheel.

yup those are factory GM IROC-Z wheels, GM started using them in 88 on the lesser optioned iroc-z s. my 89 came with em but i swapped em out for some 85-87 16" iroc wheels. the only thing that guy has wrong with the ad is that their 15 x 7s not 15 x 8s.

Car: too many ...
Yes they did make the 15x7 IROC wheel. Friend of mine from my car club gave me an entire set for FREE with the original tires! But I need more!! I found out there is another deal on the island here for a set of 15" IROC's, $60 for all 4 without tires. Need to see if its true and pick them up!!! These are so much nicer than the 15" RS wheels. I plan to use all 8 (plus the 2 sets of 15" RS wheels for a total of 16 wheels) as my drift tires for the rear.

88 15 inch IROC-Z wheels looked different than those. Anyway, those are indeed 89 Iroc Wheels. Usually don't bring much money, unless they find someone that really wants them.

Got them too. And, as 82camaro said, it's a problem for those of us cursed with them - not much market for them right now, if ever. Mine have brand spankin new tread too - I'll be running them for a while for that reason - I'd love the 16's, but it's silly to get rid of them with brand new tires right now. I'll just be trying to wear 'em out quicker ;-)

I have a set of those sitting in my backyard... I was gonna strip them down, repair the rim scuffs and paint them around January. Gonna use them as temp wheels while I take off the polished IROCs and give them a thorough repolish.

You are wrong I didn't post the pic to argue about this again. In 88' the base IROC-Z wheel was a 15x7 'Z28' style wheel painted all silver or all gold with an IROC center cap. Somewhat rare, but nothing special, and not really worth much. In 89, the 15x7 IROC-Z wheel became the 'mini' 16x8. I got mine new. The dealer replaced them with 16x8's because the customer wanted 16's on his IROC-Z.

they were base wheels on everything else too though....so they aren't iroc rims.....
when people say iroc rims, they are either talking about the rims i see in the picture in your signature or the later ones with the 2 lines in each spoke of the rim, whether they be 15's or 16's
i dont care what center cap they have in them....and i've seen the iroc ones before
when people refer to iroc rims, they are referring to the optional wheels.
I have several sets of the z28/rs rims....the only difference on an iroc is the centercap......so you have iroc centercaps...congratulations
and your obviously not a dummy, so you know what people meant.....your just being a smartass....you posted that pic because you were hoping someone would argue with you.......well ya got it
just because they came on an iroc, doesnt make them iroc rims

Not being a smartass, just put these wheels on this morning. Haven't been on the car for around 5 years. Anyway, they are Iroc-z wheels...they say it on them. They came stock on an Iroc-Z--that makes them IROC-Z wheels. They are all paint, no aluminum showing at all, another reason why they aren't a 'normal' Z28 or RS wheel. Like I said before, they aren't anything special, nor are they worth much. But that wheel ONLY came on an 88 IROC-Z. How can it not be an IROC wheel? It was part of the IROC-Z package
Just because 'people' assume you mean 16x8 IROC wheel, when someone says IROC wheel doesn't mean it's true.
Knowledge is power, and quite a few 'people' don't realize an IROC came with 15's--that's how this post started and that's why I posted a picture. If you want to continue to argue how IROC-Z specific wheels aren't IROC wheels, more power to ya'. I'm done here.

weird, i have 2 sets of those wheels....
one came from an 86, the other came from an 87.....both are completely painted and identical, one car is an iroc, one is not.
they are not iroc specfic wheels,
and what gm calls an iroc wheel is of no concern, you know what was meant, and your being a smart ***

you do realize that there was no z28 in 88 right? it was only the iroc that was availbe instead of the Z28. Those rims were also available on RS's making them not iroc specific. There were two "styles" of IROC rims, the single "veined" as shown in your sig pic and the ones that some call double "veined" as shown on my car. There were also the 15x7 rims that can be found in the auction and yes that style is the same style rim found in 88, no difference except for the size, just take a look at mine and his and notice that they're the same despite the size difference.

the question is will the 15x7 IROC-Z wheels fit over the PBR rear disc brakes? and to even further push luck, would they fit over 1LE front brakes?
