Car: 1984 Camaro on steroids/ 1987 iroc-z28 5 speed.
Engine: 383 nitrous motor / poindexter 305
Transmission: Th350
I would be afraid of that coilover kit, as the shock towers arent as sturdy as the k-member spring perches.

I totally agree!!!
That design Bent the crap out of my upper strut mounts. If it would have gone any further it could have collapsed and destroyed my car at speed.

If you are drag racing only! "Trailered everywhere" Maybe. Otherwise it is a very dangerous design.

I converted back to the stock coil spring setup.

I was just looking at your pictures on your server. I just bought a Profab with stock spring locations. I suppose you could reinforce the shock towers, but why? I can't believe they sell something like that. If I were to come down hard off a wheelie, I can pretty much guarantee the car will be bent. Good to hear your feedback z rated!!

Have you installed the ProFab A Arms yet?
Mine were incorrectly made. The spring perches in the bottom were positioned too low.
The car sat on the ground! (almost)

I had to re weld the perches to correct it.

I only recently came to understand these dangers, that is why every effort is being made to take as much weight off the front of my car as possible. I have already taken a few hundred pounds off the nose with more to come.

Also after building a few mustangs that employ the same coil over methods and have the same weaknesses, I feel confident I will be able to minimize the flex/danger.

Because the car will be occasionally street driven, my preventative measures will be:

greatly reduced weight in the front half of the car

reinforced strut tower areas

strut tower bracing

and these twice as thick steel camber plates:
