Strut tower brace?or Wonderbar?

Yes I'am a newbie, although I have been following this forum for sometime now..so howdy y'all. Question- I have the TDS wonderbar on my Z now and It's made a fairly dramatic difference in tightening things up front. At this point would it make sense to add a strut brace as well? How much of an improvement over the wonderbar would I see? What brand are you guy's/gal's running out there? I'am torn between a Hotchkiss and a BMR . BMR's price is attractive... Thx for any input...

I would actually suggest a Edelbrock STB for you car. Their one of the best I've ever seen so far for the Thirdgens. Since its a 3 point instead of just a two. How much you'll notice...really matters on how you drive. If you just do average driving then you'll notice a difference when your taking turns and also a little stability. But if you drive seriously like track racing and what not. Then you'll notice a big difference. Even when I made my own STB for my old car I noticed a big difference.

You will love the feel after a STB install. I would shoot for a 3pt brace but I am not sure if any out there will clear your TPI. I run a 3pt brace and it is amazing what it did to the front end.

but also, BMR offers a three point brace, which would be worth the extra $40 in my opininon. so if you like the look of the BMR brace, go for it!

I have to say that the Edelbrock one is pretty wicked. I have both the STB and the TDS wonderbar on my car and I love both. I thought about the BMR bar, but opted for the Edelbrock one since I was tring to save a little here & there. I was able to get mine on eBay for $60 delivered, but would have gone with it even if I'd have bought new.

That was my next Question-2 point or 3 point? Most Ive seen ,mount in front of the bolts on the strut tower yet I've seen one on ebay that mounted directly to the strut tower bolts for 99bucks- but was'nt sure that made good sense again, since almost all I've seen , installed in front of the strut tower bolts

8 pt is over kill. That 8 pt brace had a lot of zero force members on there that were just along for the ride. A 3pt is about all you need. To rigid can be a bad thing. I hate the quality of my edelborck 3 pt but I love how it performs.

I read a post in here that said Edelbocks welds have much to be desired.

Yea they are a bit sloppy. They are tolerable though. The thing that I do not like is the quality of their powercoat. It has a lot of debris stuck in it and is by no means a show piece. One of thse days I will take it off and sand it down and do something cool with it. Don't let the asthetics get you on this piece though. It performs awesome.

I just had a edlebrock STB, it was alright now great like they said the welds were so, so. I sent my back and got a BMR which just came in today, i have to say that this one seems to be better made. Plus the edlebrock didnt fit under my SS hood and the BMR clears just perfect.

Well my Edelbrock one looks just fine. Their powdercoat isn't show quality, but the thing is only $160 brand new. It works awesome and that's what matters. Maybe the welds aren't perfect, but you can't knock the job it does. I went ahead and sanded the crap out of my powdercoat and painted my bar red to match my car but it would have been great just the way it came.

I have the BMR piece and I would recomend it to anyone. I haven't seen the Edelbrock piece in person but the BMR leaves nothing to be desired.
