Rear brake squeak

Ok, ive been sifting through the million "brake squeak" posts over the last couple of days and havnt found anyone with my symtoms so here I go;

I have a constant squeak coming from the rear right disc brake. NOT while im braking, but just while sitting at a constant speed. Now the squeak goes once there is any pressure placed onto teh brakes (either peddel or E-brake).

So far i have new rotors, pads (might be cheap tho), new brake glue, greased calipers and new axel bearings.

The squeak started after i replaced the pads, after what would apear to be an extended time of near on no pads.

Ive discoverd my e-brake is almost useless (i never use it) but by pulling its up a bit the squeak does go away.

Another thing of note, is when the rear of the car is in the air and in drive, the rear brakes wont stop the wheels at idle speed. I dont know how good they are supposed to be originally but i thought id mention it.

Any ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :hail:

When You say constant, is it like Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp? If so, then you either have warpped a rotor (pull this off and have it checked on a lathe), or if that is fine you have a bent axle. Tne sound is either coming from the pad contact to the warpped axle/rotor, or from the floating caliper shifting back and forth squeaking on each revolution.

Well it looks like you were right dude. Took teh wheels off and ran the car with the rear in teh air and the noisy side had a noticable 'warp' movement. And since the rotors are brand new it must be a bent axle.

Can anyone tell me how many splines a 10-bolt's axle has? As finding one of these here in Oz is gonna be a mission
