big block suspension

hey i can get a good deal on a 454/th400. i was wondering what i would have to do to the front suspension in order to handle the added weight. is there a special spring/ strut i need?

Depending if the BBC has an aluminum intake or not, you're only adding about 150 pounds to the car. The TH400 adds a few more. SBC V8 springs are more than enough as long as they're not cut. WS6 or Z28 springs will have a heavier spring rate and won't bottom out as easily.

There's a lot more to the swap than just changing the suspension.
