Turning wheels from lock to lock from outside the car
I have searched and can't find an answer to this question. I have my 89 iroc on jack stands and can turn the wheels from lock to lock with very little effort using just one hand. Is this an indication that the steering box is worn out? or something else?
Thanks for your help.

If the weight of the car is not on the wheels, it isnt hard to turn them at all. I would be more more concerned if you couldnt move them easily.
A good indication of wear is how much "dead zone" the steering wheel has in it. I actually drove a shop car where I used to work, and you literally had to turn the wheel about 30 degrees from center, before the wheels would actually respond. It was pretty funny, I would be driving completely straight and be able to wiggle the wheel about 4 or 5 inches back and fourth with no response.

Thanks for your reply,I didn't notice a "dead zone" but I will give it a closer inspection when I get home from work tonight.
