What Choices 4 Tubular K-Members?
I just checked UMI's site for a tubular K-member and didn't see one offered. I really like the rest of their parts I've installed on my auto-x 88 Iroc. So who all makes Quality replacement K-members for our cars? I think Spohn and Racecraft are a couple manufacturers???
I'm definitely after durability over price. Thanks in advance; Nitro

Re: What Choices 4 Tubular K-Members?
I noticed that Spohn's site 'recommends' BRACE MOUNTS for their tubular K-member. Is this necessary? I've already done the steering box brace that looks like a mini-me sway bar, and have installed, added, or upgradded every suspension part available with the exception of the K member and I chose not to go tubular on the A-arms; I beefed up the factory units instead. spohn, bmr, racecraft, pa racing.
i wont buy spohns because of the issues and the fact that he knotched the main hoop to clear the steering. looks like a weak point.
I still holding out for UMI

I purchased the Racecraft for my car because it appears to give the most room for my custom exhaust system and the reason for doing so. I will be installing it in a few months along with the new motor. It appears to be very well made.

You already have the braces, they're the little black triangle's that go from your K member to the sub frame. That notice in there for those of us who have pre-85 F body's that didnt get those from the factory.Joe

Good Morning Joe-
I always get a real kick out of the knowledgeable posts that show research and/or familiarity; so thanks for putting it out there about the extra supports. I'm sure it would have all become obviouse once I pull the old engine out of there, but I hate having bought to many extra parts!
Who'd have thought switching out one TPI engine for another would be so involved and so costly! I'm glad I built up some elbow grease favors with a couple friends over the past year so I can get everything spick and span and then painted! Nitro

I called UMI 4 months ago to order my drag bar and i asked them about the K-member and they said there isn't enough market for the third gen crowd for them to benefit making one Because there is so many other companys that make them. Yeah is sucks.
