Sub-frame removal issues

Hey everyone, got a few questions. Long story short, I'm trying to drop the motor from the bottom. I'm having trouble with my passenger side wheel, the PO stripped the lug nut VERY bad and not I cant get anything to stick on there. I'm thinking about drilling it out tomorrow. I was going to try and dremel it out, but then I'd kill the wheel. I tried to avoid the whole thing and drop the sub-frame with the wheel on still, so I attempted to remove the strut mount from the top and broke that stud, now I'm really stuck. Probably will have to drill that too (struts are shot anyway). So my 3rd solution was trying to disconnect the knuckle from the strut by the 2 bolts, but the adjustable wrench would not stay on with all the pressure I was putting on it. Gonna buy a 24mm wrench tonight.

Any suggestions?? This wheel is holding everything back so much right now.

Also is there a write-up anywhere on how to drop the motor through the bottom? I've seen pictures of people who completed the job with the engine on a dolley and car in the air with a few words to describe the process, but no detailed walk through. I found an excellent write-up on a different site, but that was for an LT1 out of a 4th gen.

Any suggestions??
Yes: very simple. Drill the lug out from the center of the nut. Start with a small bit, make sure it's well centered, keep stepping up to progressively larger ones.

Not really; not least because, that's not the right way to do it. Not sure how you got the notion that it's "A Good Idea", but that's gotta be about 50 times as much work as doing it the right way, which is, to use that nice red cherry picker the way it was designed to be used.

4th gen is a TOTALLY different matter.
