So I have shudder that I can't locate, hoping you guys can help. The car has a little bit of vibes in the shifter, which is fine, it's silent. But I'm getting minor (and slightly annoying) vibration inside the car at idle.

It gets worse while I'm driving. If I don't work the clutch and gas perfectly on takeoff (I've tried multiple clutches and flywheels), the car shudders until the car is in motion. If I let the car idle while in gear and the clutch engaged, if it starts moving too slow it will jerk back and forth until some throttle is given. And last but not least, while driving down the road the car vibrates again while at highway speeds.

If I let the clutch out too quick while shifting gears (not WOT) it sounds like I dropped the rear end.

Any ideas on what could cause these issues? Honestly it makes the car almost unenjoyable.

If I posted this in the wrong thread, my apologies.

Re: Drivetrain Shudder?

Have you checked the transmission mount? They're notorious for breaking.

My car does it some, I think I need new engine mounts.

Did this. Turns out one of the bolts holding the mount into the transmission broke. Time to get the easy-out. Is it worth it to replace the mount with a poly one? Just want to reduce vibrations transferred into the car as much as possible.

I will be replacing the panhard bar and LCA's with Founder's adjustables. My rear end sits slightly to the left.

Re: Drivetrain Shudder?

if you replace it with a rubber one you'll be replacing it again in a couple of weeks. The rubber ones are awful. If you dont want to do it again poly is the only answer.

Then a poly mount may not be what you want. The following link details my experience and provides info/pics:

Thank you for the info. Seems hit and miss though. I'm gonna get a Prothane mount and a new rubber one and see which I like best.
