bushings
I want to redo the bushing on the rear of my car. Where is the best place to buy them? Hawks?
I am from Canada so freight is a expense.
Probably next winters project.

Re: bushings
Suspension bushings?? Being in Canada can hurt, price wise. Our dollar isn't great... so compare the exchange on the $. I buy most auto parts from the US and drive across and get it. Summit and Jegs offer free US shipping, and both have beat-a-price guarantees. So ship to a US address (eg. UPS store ) and do it that way. Of coarse I am close to the boarder, so that helps. Otherwise in Canada try Mopac. I have bought from them before, even beat some US prices on a few things.
As far as bushings, I used all Energy Suspension stuff. Click on their website and grab part #'s for your car.

Re: bushings
What you plan to do with the car matters most. Stock replacement Moog bushings are an excellent choice. Energy Suspension makes some nice stuff, I would definitely use there swaybar bushings and end links. If you autoX or road race I wouldn't use poly bushings in the control arms, they can bind in hard corners, either use rubber or step up to UMI roto-joints or something comparable. For street/strip use ES poly should be fine.
Hawks probably has more mark up in their price than summit or jegs but you can compare online to know for sure. Summit and Jegs offer free shipping!

Re: bushings
It is just a cruiser. The roads are quite windy around here so you can have some fun. I generally use it for groceries and taking dog for a walk. Pretty mild stuff. Just want to tighten up some rattles.

Re: bushings
You'll probably find that it's near impossible to change those out without destroying the control arms themselves.
Think, trying to twist a rusty bolt out of aluminum foil. What do you suppose is going to happen to the foil?
I'd STRONGLY suggest just getting a pr of aftermarket control arms with bushings included. Lakewood, UMI, BMR, Hotchkiss, ... there's A BUNCH of em. Not sure if any are made in CA but they might be. Any will be better than those stock ones that you can just bend in your hands. (or at least I, the very dictionary image of the 6' tall 150 lb weakling, can bend em in my hands... YOU can probably CRUMPLE em in yours)
