Brakes

I need to flush my brakes, but have no clue on how to go about this.

Does any one have any info they can lend?

The easiest way is with the power bleeder the dealer has, or you can get a friend to pump the brakes while you bleed them at the caliper until good clean fluid comes out. You just a couple bleeds at on caliper, then refill the master cyl and bleed some more. You friend pumps up the brakes with the bleeder closed, holds, you open the bleeder and let the fluid out while he pushes the pedal to the floor and holds it there, you close the bleeder and he pumps it up again.

It's a long routine. Maybe just spring for the dealer to do it. It'd be quicker and cleaner in the short run. Shouldn't take then more than an hour, so price their shop rate per hour and see what they'd charge.

Cool. Doesn't sound to hard to do. I'm unemployed right now so I have all the time in the world to do it. The brake fluid is black as coal. I think it is causing my soft pedal and minor pull to the right when I bring the car to a stop. If I am going down the road there is no pull, but when i step on the brake it pulls to left pretty bad. The brake pads are about 1 month old so i know it's not the pads. It could also be that the left rear wheel cylandar seals are blown. I hit a pretty bad bump and the track bar squished the rubber hose leading to the left rear wheel and pop the seals. I pulled the drum off and you can see the brake fluid in there.

Also do you know where I can get some new brake lines. When I hit the bump it weakened the line at the impact point. I have been calling parts stores like Kregans, but they are clueless and tell me that they don't sell replacment hoses for brakes.

... if they're clueless on brake hoses, you may need to shop somewhere's else.

A disk/drum car has 3 rubber hoses on the car. I at each caliper up front and one in the rear from the body to the axle. With drum brakes in the rear, the metal line goes right into the back of the wheel cylinder.

Wheel cylinder rebuild kits are something to consider, or just complete re-built wheel cylinders.
