You deffinately do not need a new computer. Your car is throwing a code and you need to find out what that code 12 means and fix that first. After that check out this TBI board and get ready to read. With a couple minutes of reading you can answer everything you want to do to these cars. Check out the "all go here" stuff at the top of the page and try a search for 305 TBI performace and stuff like that. This question gets aksed 5 times a week and there are trillions of great responses out there. Good luck and happy modding.

You do not need a computer and as long as it does not spit up anymore codes after code 12 your fine. Code 12 is just the computer sending a signal to tell you that the computer has been reconized and is working properly.
