LO3 to a LO5. Is it worth it?

After reading a lot of posts on the conversion, I am not sure if this is worth it.

My 305 locked up. I still have not torn it down to see what the problem is, but I cannot turn the motor over by starter, push start or hand.

I can get a LO5 from a 90 truck for 550 w/o injection. I am just looking for a cheap, quick fix and do not want to dump any more cash than I need to in the Bird. It is just my daily driver that has gotten way too much attention. If I just left it alone from the start, it probably would still be running fine.

Since the LO5 came from a truck, is it true that it is not a roller? If it is a roller, I would like to throw in a LT-1 cam.

Best bet for the ECM would be going to an EBL, right? Not sure if I want to go through the trouble of getting a PCM.

Need new injectors as well. Are the intake manifolds the same for LO3/LO5?

Should I just look for a vortec instead? Or should I just part it out?

Thanks!
