1.6 roller rocker mix up
i accidentally bought 1.6 roller rockers for the old style heads. i have the centerbolt. the current covers i have noticed are obviously 1/2" too short. but one of my rockers is hitting the baffle. are the baffles neccessary or is that a piece that can be removed, for clearance. if anybody has any ideas to make this work. give me a shout. thanx

If it is hitting, you are going to need to get rid of the baffle, or get a tall-valve cover. The OTHER thing you better check, is if you got rockers that are self-aligning. If you got non-self-aligning rockers, they won't work without running pushrod guide-plates.

they are self alligning. i did make sure of that. ok so it should be good to go. i went ahead and adjusted them. so far it sounds good. im just waiting for the new valve covers to come in, that i got off ebay. so the baffle can come out...? if so i should be good to go. thanks for the info.

you will probably be ok, just keep an eye on the breather filter, and make sure it doesn't get soaked real quick with oil. I don't think it will be that big of a deal, especialy if you have tall valve covers coming.
