Spitting and Sputtering
I am new to this forum so please excuse me if I say something stupid. I have read so much that I now realize I know almost nothing. I built a 383 vortec tbi using an externally balanced eagle assembly and a Gmpp tbi-vortec intake manifold with a bored out tbi from rvmorse and am running 454 ss injectors and a comp small base 12-256-4 cam. It's in 94 Silverado ext cab 4x4. I really had a hard time getting it to start for the first time. I got it running today and TRIED to break in the cam. I was by myself and was watching the guages and neglected to notice the fuel drip from my high pressure line. About 12 min of running it never reached 180 degrees but then just caught on fire through the throttle body. It went from running good to on fire literally. I put it out and have been scared to start it back up to see what it will do. What would make it run good and then just hiccup through the tbi a fireball? I wasn't feathering the throttle, holding it at 2000 rpm. oil pressure at 60psi running 160 degrees then poof. And that pesky brown wire on the distributor was unhooked. I was running about 4 degrees advance on the timing. I havent tuned the ecm yet, just thought I could hear it run and break the bump stick in. Any thoughts?

Also the brake light was blinking on and off. I didn't mess with the brakes. What causes this?

Re: Spitting and Sputtering
I went out and started it after I fixed my fuel drip and it fired right up! Left injector not spraying well though. Work on that today later. No fireball. must have just been a fluke.
