Smog pump?

If I cut the belt to my smog pump will my exhaust be richer and in return tell my o2 sensor it is rich making the computer lean out the fuel ratio?

Re: Smog pump?

No, You probably misunderstand what the smog pump is doing. All the smog pump is for is to warm up your cats quicker, then they bypass and do nothing. Removing your smog pump will have no effect on how rich or lean your engine runs. Be aware however that removing your smog pump even if you are in a no smog check area is a Federal Crime (yes I know, but if the smog nazi's are around, they can nail you)

Re: Smog pump?

My engine had a seperate v belt, so I could remove it w/o affecting the other belts.
