What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Which is more nitrous friendly? Are there any durability issues?

well one thing is if you use a electrical pump, you must buy regulators (I believe 6 bucks at summit) to regulate the psi flow of gas. However, it frees up some of the work done by the engine due to it not having to push the fuel rod in any movement on the fuel pump. Take a look at it, its been said taking a ac belt off gives you more horse, the same "could" apply to this.

I run the pump in the gas tank through a regulator set @ 5 psi to the carb and another regulator back to the tank, it runs great.

Lets make it more intersting, how about running both. Sort of a push and pull system. 1/2 inch fuel lines, no worries about starving for fuel. and if the electric goes out there is still the manual. Maybe just switch on the electric at the track so no pump noise for daily driving. Another idea to kick around.

That's an idea I had, I like the idea of redundancy(kinda like NASCAR having backup ignitions) Wasn't to sure how easily the fuel would pass through the elec. pump if it wasn't running, any idea?

fuel coming from an electrical pump MUST be regulated or it will flood the fuel system up. Buy some regulators and hook the regulated line of gas to the mechanical pump on the egine.I think it would be useless to run both but thats my opinion.
