Where do fuel lines connect to gas tank?

Hey guys,

I'm having a little problem. Yesterday I tried to fire up my car after sitting for 2 months. It turned over great but was getting no gas. I disconnected the inlet hose to the fuel pump (mechanical pump) and no gas poured out. So I figure I have a clog somewhere in the fuel line or possibly the tank neck.

Today I got under the car and can't find where the fuel line connects to the tank. All I see are 3 hard metal lines going to the top of the tank, where I can't see or reach.

So can somebody please help me out, where does the line connect to the tank.

BTW Could my fuel pump have just gone bad? When I put my finger on the inlet while by brother cranked, the pump barely pulled at all. Is this normal, or are all my headaches caused my a bad pump?

Thanks,
-Max

If you put your finger over the hole while it was cranking, you should have a small hickey on your finger....

This photo is looking toward the front of the car. This is where the main lines interface to the tank. The only way to get at the actual tank line which is part of the sender unit, is by droping the tank.

There's a little trick to check if the fuel line is clogged. Just take some compressed air (not much, just maybe 30psi) and shoot the line off the pump. You should hear the tank gargle.

Thanks for the help guys,

Well, if what chooch says is right, sounds like my fuel pump is dead. I could barely feel when mine was pulling.

Also is there any way to pump the compressed air without a compressor?

Thanks,
-Max
