First Mods???
What would be the suggested first mods to do on my particular car to improve acceleration, it wuld seem, that w/ my combo I have alot of potential.
'89 TA
WS-6
305 TPI (peanut cam)
'91 z/28 WC T-5
2:73 Posi
Stock other than O.E. (for 98+) Hurst Shifter
car was originally automatic, that's why I'm stuck w/ the crappy rear gear and peanut cam. w/ the current combo, I'd be lucky to even hit 15's right???
Help me get started w/ performance w/ your suggestions. I was around here for a few years before with my old '88 Sport Coupe, but that had a 2.8 and was automatic anyway.

An overall improvement in acceleration would probably best be accomplished with a change to a different rear gear ratio. Other than the 2.56 gears from earlier days, that's about the lowest ratio offered in a Saginaw 10-bolt. While fuel mileage and top speed may be a little better with the 2.73s, acceleration will be a lot better with 3.42 or 3.73 gears.
If I'm correct, the major issue you'll face is having to change the differential/ring gear carrier, so you may actually be better off finding a complete 3.42 or 3.73 rear end with disc brakes and swap the entire assembly. That, of course, is presuming that your WS6 included four-wheel discs. I believe most did.

it has aluminum drums in the rear.
I knew I'd have a problem w/ the carrier, but IIRC, the carrier can be changed right??
I figured I'd go w/ 3:73's.
4:10's would be too much due to the TPI's power band correct??
but If I ever swapped to a miniram then I could change that all correct??
If I went to 4 wheel disc, I'd just have to do new lines in the back, then get a different booster right??
