Cast Pistons??

What is the horse power limit on cast pistons? I dont like the nitrous bit so it would be straight up HP.
Thanks

the factory 300 hp 350 had cast pistons. i can't think of any higher HP rating with cast pistons. considering the cost i'd look at silva-a-lite hyper pistons or even the forged TRW's.

parts like that aren't made with a limit number on them. even if they were to try it, someone would exceed it. i've seen cast pistons in over 400hp applications, but i wouldn't do my own that way. cast pistons will handle light nitrous, but have no sense of humor to it. any mistake and it will vent itself.

My engine had cast pistons and was running high 11's before the engine blew up. I don't know what happened first but I threw a rod and had a piston disintegrate in a different cylinder. Either one could have caused the other to fail.

Cast pistons are not as weak as people say. Detonation is the enemy of all pistons

I run cast pistons in my motor (not that I am proud of it, but is was what I had lying around at the time and it fit the budget). So far so good with 500hp/520lbft and 6000rpms.
