F***er won't come off!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to replace my sonor, but the bolt that holds it on is melted into place. Is there anything I can use on it to loosen it up?

A sonor is a thing that detects incoming rice. You guys didn't know that? You should be ashamed of yourselves . J/k

I have no clue, try wd40 on those bolts and let it sit for a night.

That damn salt water is hell on your sonor. WD40 fixes everything!

I looked everywhere for help removing my sonor. Finally I came across a web page, www.sonor.com that had everything I needed to know about it.

AcSeb,

O.K. Some of the membership was just having fun at your expense. (Nothing personal - and you are cordially invited to make fun of ANY of these memebers whenever you see a similar oversight.)

Exactly which sensor are you referring to? Knowing this will make our efforts a lot easier.

BTW - I once advised someone to buy some "goo-quality" spark plug wires (you know - the kind that turns to "goo" when they get hot). I heard about that one for a couple of days...

Later,

Yah, it's the oxygen sensor. The reason that it says sonor is because while I was trying to get it off I had my girlfriend come in here and ask you guys how to get it off, so, that one's on her. But would liquid wrench or wd40 work to break it up so that I can get it out?

Get a 12" pipe, a box wrench, and slide the pipe over the wrench and use the pipe as a handle. Use Wd40 or liquid wrench to make it easier. That increases the torque and makes it a lot easier to get those nasty bolts/sensors loose.

Dude, listen up!

If your girlfriend needs to ask US how to get it off, you need to drop the tools and pay some more attention to her. (See above quote)

For either circumstance, penetrating lubricant and a little concentration should do the trick... (See above quote)

You really need to pay attention to how you post your replies - we're a bunch of animals here!

OK!

Seriously now guys. I had this same problem. getting a freaking wrench down there sucks because there's no room between the AIR injection system, and brake booster.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR KID! Go to AutoPalace and buy a GM O2 Sensor ratchet. It cost me like 10 bucks; It's the right size and has a slot in the side for that cord. I stuck it on a nice big driver and used like a one inch wrench for leverage. THEN in came right off.

Besides, if you have the tool you know you can get the second one in. Besides, we're supposed to change these ever 30k. hehe

Doodman, I had that 02 sensor socket open up on me once because of that frickin' slot. The socket spread apart as I was twisting, and wedged itself on the sensor. After alot of cursing I got it off, then I either cut the wire or broke the sensor off (long time ago, can't remember). Then I used a normal deep socket.

You just need the properly sized tool for the job. Try a 45 offset box end wrench that's long enough to get in there and feel around with, but remember it's a tight fit and you may have to wiggle it some.
