Advice needed
i have been wondering whether or not to get rid of my 1991 camaro RS. it's a V6 with 151000 miles on it. the engine is original, but, the valve cover gaskets are leaking! do u think i would be better off to sell my car or keep it and fix the problem? i was thinking that if i fixed the valve cover gaskets, another gasket or something else would go wrong with it in the near future..... any advice will be helpful.
Thanks

Car: 89 Camaro RS

Valve cover gaskets are really easy to do. Since you appear to be new to doing work on cars, you might want to pick up a Chilton/Haynes manual for your car.
Yes, with that many miles on ANY car something could go horribly wrong at any moment. But I have more than that on my 89 RS (V8) and it's still chugging along (literally). If something goes wrong in the future, you can decide what to do then.
It is normal for things to just wear out in a car, including valve cover gaskets. As long as you're not getting pools of oil under your car, you usually don't have to worry about the little leaks. A lot of us are running with minor oil leaks. It happens in old cars-especially Chevys. But like I said before, valve cover gaskets are very easy to do. The hardest part is getting the old ones off.
