What do i need to get with my new engine?

I am going to buy a new engine soon. I am thinking about the max velocity plus form beck racing engines. The info on that motor is here http://www.beckracingengines.com/SiteFrameSet.html
sorry, i dont know how to make that a link.
Anyhow, the guy said the engine should make about 430hp and 470lbs of torque before the roller cam and afr heads upgrade , both of which i would get. I want to know what all i need to change on my car to make this a good engine for me. I am a little nervous after reading that post about blackouts and hitting side rails and stuff. I want to know all of the suspension, exhaust, engine stuff that i need to do. I am planning on a new tpi base, runners, injectors, afpr, ported plenum, headers (not sure what size to get), and im gonna try to burn my own chip for it. I am also gonna get some 17x8 iroc wheels for it. I also plan on getting sub frame connectors. I know i am forgetting some stuff here so please let me know what you think i should get. I dont want to spin out all over the place or anything like that. This is my one shot at a hot rod for a long time so i want to do this right.
Thanks
oops, I cant believe i totally forgot to list what i currently have.
It is an 89 iroc with L98 and a maf.
I have a 4 speed 700r4 and 2.77 gears. It has about 160k miles on it. It is all completely stock except for some k&n filters and my downgraded wheels. For some reason the previous owner put base model 15" wheels on it. I have no clue why he would do that but he did. It also has t-tops so body flex is a concern for me.
Thanks again for any advice or info you have

89,

First of all, I apologize to all who read my post about getting the "fuzzies" upon hard launch at the dragstrip - it applies to cars with no headrests, stick-shift, and very high RPM launch on slicks.

If you drive a late model 'matic with headrests, disregard it and have fun. I'll do a new post in a minute for guys that have not seen this. In the meantime 89.......

That is a nice motor from a reputable shop, but it lists at $6,300 in turnkey form, carbed, without upgrades. Pop for the forged pistons with roller cam and it's now $7,500. I believe the "steel rods" advertised are either powdered metal or 1038 GM. Neither is a 4340 rod. Also, that's a SCAT crank, not 4340 steel.

Since you want TPI (I don't know why, unless it's CA emissions)you can figure another $2,500 for base, plenum, runners, injectors, TB, and a custom chip. (you might be able to burn one, I don't know).

That adds up to $10,000 - and you will still need a Hipo 700R-4 ($1,800), Vigilante ($800) and good rear-end ($2,000).

That's $14,600, not including cooling upgrades, SFC's, shifter, wheels and tires, MSD box, and about 500 other small things.

Jeeeeez..........that $14,600 figure rings a bell.....

It's the same exact amount I spent to completely restore a 1966 Corvette coupe. And this car was one small step from the crusher when I bought it. That figure includes a complete interior and all the bodywork + paint. Complete.

12.84 ET @ 109 MPH corrected.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I sense that you've never done a "complete" build yet. If that is the case, and power + reliability is your goal, you might want to rethink this. Ask yourself some questions:

1)Is this your only car, or can you use a beater to get around in ? Your '89 will be down for a good while. You can buy reliable wheels for $1,000, and re-sell it when you're done with the '89.

2)Is there a way to accomplish the same goals with less money ? Yes, there is.

3)And the biggest one.....can you commit to doing the build yourself, with the help of some experienced friends ?

Send me an e-mail at oldvette@bellsouth.net so I can find out in detail what your budget is and how flexible you can be on the labor part of the build. There's more than enough $$$ at stake to take the time to examine all the options.

Wow, box of rocks, you figured me out pretty quick. This is my first buildup and I do have to worry about ca emissions. I am not planning on getting that turnkey package, i was going to order the tpi version longblock for $5099. I am also getting the roller cam, and afr heads. I wasnt going to get the forged , but if you recommend them i definitely will. I was hoping to put a tpis big mouth manifold, as&m large tube runners, and a ported plenum on it. I already have a TCI street fighter transmission with overdrive and a lockup converter sitting in the garage. Its brand new. I got my wifes ok to spend the money for this so i have a good amount to spend on this. I wish I had more knowhow when it comes to working on this thing but im trying to learn. I just dont want to screw this up as it is my only chance for while to do something like this. I am hoping to get some details about what size fuel injectors to use, fuel pressure to run, header size, and things like that. I also want to upgrade my supension so as not to shatter my t-tops. I do really appreciate the info that I from all of you even if i dont quite get what your telling me the first time.
Thanks
