cam journal nicks

Guys once again I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I did not find anything definitive when I performed a search.

How much of a nick is acceptable on a cam journal and is it ok to polish down with emory cloth. It's about 1/8-3/16" long and you can feel the surface high with your fingernail.

New takeout ZZ4 from Sallee chevy....

Thanks again

The way you describe it, a quick polish-down with the cloth will make it acceptable.
