If it's for sure track only, get a 2 or 3 gallon and mount up front somewhere. Save, weight, time, money etc...it's why the big dogs do it

I hoped you would answer.. the only interior left in the car will be the console and the drivers comp seat 5 point web.....where up front would you reccomend...dont suppose you have any pics of you dash you would care to share...my mother and sister started a buisness that looks pretty good, They have agreed to sponsor me and my car ..The ford 9 and the tubbing will have to wait till next year.....put just short of 10,000 already NA, but 9:1 leaves me plenty to work with

Man, your going along ways from that 327 project Without having my car around to look at it, from memory I think somewhere's in front of one of the front inner fenders. Should be plenty of room to cut out where needed for a 2 gallon cell which should be sufficent for each pass so long as you can push the car through staging, a 3 gallong might be safer if your going to drive it all around. When we built the truck the owner bought a 15 gal. cell since he was planning" on street driving it once in awhile, well the only time I've ever seen him in the seat with it running was to warm it up driving around the pits-he wont even load it on my trailer I would say with that 383 from the time I leave pits and come back to pits maybe a gallon to gallon and a half are consumed? Your going to have an electric pump pushing the gas anyways so height makes no concern for the location of the cell. I'm just thinking light weight, easy to mount, and bare minimum to get the job done-which a race car basically is. Plus lots easier/quicker to top it off betweeen rounds and you dont have to fab up a sheild in the pass. compartment.

What kind of business are they starting? Flower, candles, home interiors, knitting Hope they dont make you paint the car pink if they're selling Mary Kay Any financial help is always welcome, so at least you have some coming. My area is so concentrated with mud packers and drag racing never brings in spectators so all the businesses laugh when you ask for sponsorship. Given my good fortune to date I was thinking about Stephens idea of they pay for where you place, 1st place they give $200 and runner up $100 anything less they dont have to pay. It's a gamble on their part and a nice boost if you do well. I talked to another racer that had a good number of sponsors and what he did with his was a monthly newsletter he sent to all his sponsors with pics of the car, what's been going on, where he's raced and will be racing-something to keep the businesses interested.

As far as sticking money into these cars-whoa!! I have to keep track so I can write it off for my business and when you keep track of EVERY penny, not just big ticket items it gets outta control fast. The first year '02 I had the car it tallied up to a few dollars short of $8K, it looked like crap and only ran mid 13's. After the mods done that winter and what I spent just on the car-not race fees I now have a little over $18K into it. I'm talkin all the nuts, bolts, oil filters, etc...list goes on. So now add the $2500 I spent for heads and intake this winter, $1K for my new TH400 w/Tbrake $2200 for my rear end, need slicks again $400, new 3" driveshaft, torque arm $325, shortblock-the one I want is $4600 but that'll wait till this summer of fall. I just want to get the car driveable again. This car of mine is a great exapmle to anybody thinking about building something, to save their money and buy a car that's done maybe less motor/tranny-defintely money ahead. I shoulda told you about the 86 Camaro I was gonna pick up in MS. Rustfree body, tubbed, full cage no drivetrain of rear end, I got the guy down to $400 on the phone. The body needed paint from the pictures, but still you know or will know tubbing is average $3500 to do it yourself.

Oh, what kind of dash pictures you looking for? un-installed, installed, mock up, finsihed? lemme know.
Good luck!!

You can fit a 3 gallon fuel cell under the hood in the battery or charcoal canister locationtion. NHRA rules say that the fuel cell must be within the frame so I suppose that'd be perfectly legal to do. I however think it would be best to build a rear firewall and mount the fuel cell in the hatch. It just seems cleaner to me...

Heres a picture I found on the power-adder forum used for a independant nitrous system ..I belive its a 3 gallon

The wife Runs her 94 lt-1 t-56 at the local 1/16 track MAM SHE Doesnt do to bad I think her best 60 foot was 2.1 89 mph She is a little afraid of the 1/4...but she sure likes to line up with the mustangs and yell " How ya gonna like being beat by a girl?"
