whats the deal with this
I was checking out a few cams on comp cams website and I noticed they had this new line 4 & 7 swap cams for engines with a 18736542 firing order... whats the deal with this firing order? I assume it can be accomplished by simply changing your wire locations on the cap and running this cam but what is the benefit of it?

Yes you just have to change the wires. The 4 & 7 swap decreases crank deflection, and providesa a little better induction route. It produces +5-15hp ovr regular sbc firing order.

the cams are approx. the same price. thats kinda neat. I'm looking to do a cam swap in the next month... perhaps I'll try one and report back to you all on it. any little thing for more power...
