Check your fuel pressure. Poor idle and poor gas milage is a sign that you're dumping too much fuel into the cylinders. Be sure to check out your fuel pressure regulator. It's not too hard to fix and worked wonders for my idling problem.

If it won't start/run with the IAC disconnected (after the engien is warmed, of course), adjust the throttles open a bit more.

If your maileage is that low from "normal" driving, you may have a ruptured pressure regulator diaphragm, leaking injector(s) - including the cold start injector, a bad PCV valve, failing oxygen sensor, incorrect fuel pressure, really weak or worn ignition, or probably any combination of those and any number of things that I've overlooked.

I have done new plugs wire dist. cap and rotor. The injectors all checked in @ 14 -14.5 ohms. New maf no codes but I had never thought about the fuel pressure regulator I will check that next. I also set the timing in it. And checked for vaccum leaks.

So, the injectors checked at 14-14½ ohms, meaning the solenoid coils are still in acceptable condition. It doesn't indicate anything at all about the flow rates, spray patterns, whether or not they are leaking, streaming, dribbling, or spraying correctly, or if they are even operating. But at least the coils are still good.
