Correct plug gap, other tune-up q's

Well, I bought some replacement AC delco plugs at the local store. They gave me .045 gap plugs, but I looked under the hood and in my manual. They say .035. Have to return them (for a 305 TPI)?

Second question involves how the hell do you get to the rear plugs on the passenger side? Is there some trick I'm not seeing?

Thanks, Dave '91 T/A (305 TPI), '91 GTA

Go at it from under the car, it isnt incredibly hard, but definately a pain in the *** . Go by what our emmisions label reads unless you have mods.

With this car, it's never a question of "can I...", only "will I..."!

plugs don't come pregapped, you have to do it, or at least check. there is a good chance the plug maker will gap them to fit most applications, but there is a chance they won't be gapped to yours. the gap can also get closed in shipping and handling the plugs.

if you open the gap you'd expose more spark area to the a/f mixture, the down side is if you don't have strong ignition you weaken the spark. i usually try to go .005 or .010 over stock with a stronger coil.
