Need more power.
Went to the track on friday and was fairly pleased. The car ran
14.2@99.33 with a crappy 2.354 60`.So I know the car will run
mid-high 13`s with traction. The problem is there is a fourth
gen around here running low 13`s @104 that I would like to put-
on- the-trailer.I was wondering what the weakest part of my
set-up might be.I`m running a 650dp.with the choke milled off,
a W.P. dual plane intake and W.P. Sportsman II heads,an H-272
cam (216@50,.454int 228@50,.480exh.) 10:1 comp.11/2 heddman headers, true duals, accel coil and wires and MSD ign.
The car revvs hard to 6000.But I wondering what I can do to raise the hp..Do I need to upgrade to a 750 carb?Would a set of
SLP 13/4 help me reach my goal?

"She's givin' us all she can, Cap'n! She canno' take any morrrrre..."
The signature reads 350, so I'm guessing that's the displacement.
1½" primary tubes might be hurting the torque at higher RPM (HP), and by the 60' times, it's apparent that torque on the low wnd isn't a big problem. I'd hate to spend your money on a wild guess, but ask around for others' opinions and what's evacuating their chambers on the higher HP engines.
What valve springs are you using? (Pressure/rate) What valves (Mass) What rockers? If you are losing power due to float, that's a prime target for upgrade.
And don't forget about or overlook the obvious traction problem.
