If my AutoXRay scanner tells me that the IAC position is 0 steps, is it all the way closed or all the way open? My GTA has been stalling at idle (Park or Drive) but runs great otherwise. Barely resting my foot on the gas keeps the car running OK. The IAC and throttle body were cleaned up last summer just because they needed it (and it was running OK then), but I'm going to clean them up again this weekend in an effort to fix this. I'm also going to clean the EGR valve. With the scanner I can see the ECM running the IAC up and down somewhat to try to keep it from stalling, but sometimes the numbers seem a little bizzare (0, 5, etc.). Back when it was running right the IAC position was closer to 14 or so in Park.

OK, after further digging in my Service Manual I see that 0 steps means the valve is completely closed. This apparently points to a nice large vacuum leak, which I'm guessing is the EGR valve stuck partially open. Guess I'll go after that first...
