hey guys i got some trickflow 1.5 roller rockers and they have these funny fasteners. i assume they are polylocks. they are sort of tall (not just a nut). in the center is a little allen head screw. when using these how do i set the valve lash?
i bought 7.250 pushrods for a 355 with TRW L2256F30 pistons, crane roller lifters CRN-10530-16 and trickflow 23 degree aluminium heads. are those the correct length pushrods?
In answer to your first concern, you set them as you'd normally set lash. Tighten them with a socket until they're properly lashed, then to hold them in place tighten the allen really right and they won't go anywhere.
Don't just hold the nut still and then tighten the allen screw! It'll work loose that way. Adjust your lash using the nut, then back the nut off about 1/4 turn and tighten both the allen screw and the nut at the same time till it jams the nut in place - if that makes sense.
Do a search, there's others in the past that have explained it better than I just did....
loosen the allen screw, set lash to 1/2 turn past zero (1/2 turn is what I do), then hold the nut still and tighten the allen screw, then tighten both together about an 1/8 turn (just a little)
