Car: '90 Firebird

Engine: 383

Transmission: 700r4

CTS and Carb?

Real simple question that I probably already know the answer to, but without a computer, the CTS is useless, right? The gauge only reads from the sensor on the block, I'd think.
Feel free to toss out the one word answer for this stupid question.
