AC not operating - let me explain the prob

My Heater works great, when I slide it to AC the compressor is not cycling at all. I checked to see if there was any refrigerant in the system and the gauge shows it is filled to the right pressure amount. Is there a fuse that can go somewhere or is the compressor mounted on the motor shot? Any help is appreciated.

You should have an A/C relay on the car...also a fuse in the fuse panel. Try those before you assume the worst.

It could be the cycling switch. I have had to replace it a few times.

Check the pressure switch located on the receiver dryer. Take a small length of wire and try jumping the compressor and see if that does anything...just a thought.

It does not, the autozone guy suggested that to. I am buying the relay tofday and putting it in, if that does not work I am taking it into to have the system checked from top to bottom.
