Another odd question to test you...

If the top of the hog-ring clamp on my exhaust system is about one inch below my driveshaft at a point on the shaft about six inches towards the rear from the u-joint at the tranny tailshaft, will my suspension ever drop enough for the shaft to hit the exhaust clamp? I just did some "fabricating" and it's making me nervous, but I don't think it will hit. Thanks guys.

If I'm reading this correctly.... then you would lose your exhaust long before it ever hit the driveshaft.

(edit)
Just did some more thinking on this.

You mention "below" the driveshaft.
So therefore you would crush the exhaust before it would hit the driveshaft.
On the opposite side, the car also raises when going over bumps which would allow 1" of travel between the driveshaft and exhaust.

If you're curious about whether it would hit or not. Then I'd say jack up the rear of the car (not using the axle as your jacking point) till the driveshaft hits the exhaust.

Final note....
I think I failed this test.

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by crushing the exhaust before it hits the D/S. Clearance is fine over the rear axle and everywhere else, including the ground. I'm referring to the hog-ring clamp upper surface being one inch from the bottom of the D/S 8 inches or so from the tranny down its length. Does this make any sense to anyone?

Do you have some jack stands? Jack the back of the car up, set it on the jackstands, and slowly lower the rear to see how close it gets. Its really hard to say if it will hit or not without seeing it and how far it is from the tranny to where the clamp is. As a guess I'd say its highly unlikely, but you should check to make sure.
