i need some pointers!

alright...ive gotta bad ticking from my engine when i accelerate. so...i can tell its an exhaust leak..especially when i can smell the fumes in my car with the windows up and the fact that there are manifold gaskets on my car, not header gaskets. i have edelbrock headers....but....what i need 2 know is what is our port size? i saw mr gasket gaskets that were sm bk chevy 2??-4?? and the port size was 1.44 by 1.55. something like that. the others were1.30 by 1.36. u guys know what a port size is on a 305 tbi? stock heads...

Man when I had the 305 in my car I was using just the 1.45-1.55 gaskets and they worked great. I used to put rtv around the gaskets at the sealing surfaces and they worked a lot better.

When you swap out those gaskets be sure to check the bolts few days later for any loose ones.

Right on good advice. I forgot to mention that but definitely check the bolts. They tend to rattle loose sometimes. Escpecially if they are headers.
