copper flakes in my oil
I changed my oil today and noticed that while the old filter was draining in my catch pan there was a fine, copperish, looking dust in the oil. Is this bad?
I may have not noticed it before because this is the first time i changed the oil at night using a trouble light. It glistened and left a copper glittery trail in my catch pan. It looks like very fine copper glitter.. I am using Mobil 1 full synthetic and have been changing the oil every 3k or less since 1997...

oil pressure is good. usually 50-60 on start-up and 30 when warmed up. It climbs to at least 40 when im on the throttle and its warm.

Copper or bronze? About the only sources of copper in the engine may be some plating on bearing shells. Bronze may be from a distributor bushing. Since your signature lists "Stock engine" it's not likely to have a bronze distributor gear, unless you've changed that. There just isn't that much used in a stock engine.

distributor is stock. I did put an additive in my last oil change (before i found out additives were bunk) I put a can of restore in it. Maybe its from that crap.
Im not too worried about it since the car runs great and im going to flog it until destruction. Im going to the track tommorow with 2 bottles of laughing gas. Im gonna try a 200 shot and hope for an 11.99 or better.
